This Privacy Policy explains how FantasyIntel ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use fantasyintel.io and related services (the "Services"). If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information we collect through our website, APIs, and any integrations you choose to enable. During the demo period, the site is publicly accessible and account creation is disabled.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
- Contact messages: If you reach out, we process your name, email, and message content (sent via email for handling and support)
- Preferences: We may store your UI settings (e.g., slider weights/locks) in your browser via cookies or localStorage
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and device data: Pages viewed, timestamps, referring URLs, approximate location derived from IP, browser/OS, and device type
- Server logs: Generated by our hosting providers and the application for security and reliability
- Rate-limit/security metadata: Request counts and basic request details to protect the Services
C. Information from Third-Party/Public Sources (Feature-Dependent)
- ESPN Fantasy API: League/team/player data you explicitly request (private leagues require user-provided SWID/espn_s2 when enabled)
- MLB Stats API: Public MLB schedules, games, and statistics (no key required)
- Public rankings/ownership pages: e.g., CBS Sports, FantasyPros, PitcherList, ESPN/Yahoo ownership
- FanGraphs / Baseball Savant: Public stats and splits
We do NOT collect payment information, Social Security numbers, precise GPS data, or protected health information.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and improve the Services (e.g., FINTEL™ scoring, Stream Command™ views)
- Personalize your experience (remembering UI preferences in your browser)
- Ensure security and reliability (rate limiting, abuse prevention)
- Communicate with you about inquiries or updates
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
4. Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics
We use cookies/localStorage for essential features (e.g., remembering preferences). We may use Google Analytics for aggregate usage insights. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling them may affect functionality.
Our Services do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
5. Sharing of Information
- Vendors/Processors: Hosting, email delivery, analytics, and operational tooling that process data on our behalf
- AI/Analysis providers (if enabled): We may send baseball stats and prompts to AI services solely to generate analysis output for you
- Third-party data sources: ESPN (when you link), MLB Stats API, and public stat/ranking sites as needed to deliver features you request
- Legal/Compliance: To follow the law, enforce terms, or protect rights/safety
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
We do NOT sell your personal information.
6. Retention & Deletion
We retain data only as needed to operate the demo and for legitimate security/operational purposes. Short-lived caches (e.g., analysis or page data) expire automatically.
To request deletion of contact messages or to disconnect any linked league data, please use our contact form; we will delete or de-identify associated data unless we must retain it to comply with law or resolve disputes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to our size and resources. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you consistent with applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Users
We operate primarily in the United States. Data may be processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
